Josh Meyers, PT, OCS
Josh Meyers, PT, OCS is the director of Belvidere Physical Therapy. Josh graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in 1999 and is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in physical therapy at Des Moines University. Josh works closely with patients and physicians to rehabilitate patients with sports injuries, industrial injuries, and other orthopedic injuries.
Josh began specializing in orthopedics in 1999 and passed the examination in 2005 to become a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. Board certified specialists have attained extensive clinical experience and have passed a rigorous examination that tests a therapist's advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in their specialty area.
Josh became the clinic director of Belvidere Physical Therapy in 2005. In addition to managing daily clinic operations, he works to improve the services Belvidere Physical Therapy offers to patients and the community. Josh also plans to continue his role as full-time physical therapist specializing in orthopedics.
Josh continues to develop his clinical knowledge and treatment skills through a variety of continuing education curriculum as well. Although orthopedic rehabilitation is his focus, he participates in studies with practical applications of biomechanics and kinesiology for rehabilitation. Josh is also trained in Barnes Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Release.
Paula McKenzie, PT
Paula McKenzie, PT is a graduate of Ohio University where she graduated with high honors with a BS in Physical Therapy in 1992. Her experience in physical therapy includes extensive work with sports injuries, industrial injuries, orthopedic post-surgical and non-surgical injuries, geriatrics and women's health. Paula has been able to advance her knowledge through working in several types of facilities over her career. She has had the opportunity to work in a Work Hardening Facility, a Physician owned private practice, and in independent outpatient orthopedic facilities.
Paula has been specializing in Women's Health issues since 1998 with an emphasis on treatment of pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, pregnancy and post-partum lower back pain and dysfunction, and entrapment syndromes. Paula is trained in both internal and external muscle evaluation and treatment of the pelvic floor as well as in biofeedback.
Paula sought out a position at Belvidere Physical Therapy in 2001 being the first therapist to bring treatment of Women's Health to the Boone County area. She became an ASTYM certified therapist in 2004 and is trained in Kinesiotaping, Muscle Energy Techniques, and Strain-Counterstrain as well.
Paula continues to develop her clinical knowledge and treatment skills through ongoing continuing education. Although both Women's Health and orthopedic rehabilitation are her focus areas, she has been involved in developing work conditioning programs, and doing community education as well.
Lori Gulsrud-Neiber, PT
Lori Gulsrud-Neiber, PT is a graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 1992. Her initial experience came while working in a rural community. She worked with a wide variety of patients in acute care hospital settings, nursing homes, school systems, home health and outpatient orthopedics. She continued her experience in outpatient orthopedic and post surgical rehabilitation settings where she focused on manual therapy, spinal rehab, industrial rehab, aquatic therapy, women's health issues, and vestibular rehabilitation.
Lori began specializing in Women's Health issues in 1999 and she focused on treatment of urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, pregnancy (pre through postnatal) and low back pain. She has been trained in internal and external assessment of the pelvic floor musculature and biofeedback. She is trained in John Barnes Myofascial Release Techniques and Kinesio Taping as well.
Lori expanded her practice to include Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2006. She has had great success in treating these patients with a variety of different treatment techniques.
Lori brought her expertise to the Belvidere Physical Therapy team in March of 2004. She continues to develop her clinical knowledge and treatment skills through a variety of continuing education curriculum as well.
Randy Wright, ATC/ L, MS
Randy Wright, ATC/ L, MS is the Director of Industrial Rehabilitation for Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Institute (OSTI). He is a graduate of Lewis University where he received a bachelor's degree in athletic training. Randy went on to pursue his master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Illinois - Chicago.
Prior to joining OSTI in 2008, Randy served for ten years as the Job Placement Specialist for the Chrysler Belvidere Assembly Plant. His essential job functions included; job placement, work injury prevention programs, ergonomic analysis, on-site job coaching, and assisting with injury and accident investigations.
Randy received advanced training in ergonomics and work injury prevention through United Auto Workers and Chrysler. While at Chrysler, he was a member of the medical team that won the Corporate Health Achievement Award in 2005 from the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Overall, Randy has nineteen years experience in serving the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin communities in occupational health and industrial medicine. Services and programs include; developing and supervising work hardening programs, on-site job coaching, writing job descriptions, administering post-offer and Fit For Duty job screens, and completing Functional Capacity Evaluations.
Randy's advanced training includes; working with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, completing ergonomic job site analyses. OSHA authorized 10 and 30 hour general outreach, program trainer, and certification in functional ergonomics from WorkWell systems.
He also is a trained and certified provider of Functional Capacity Evaluations and post-offer testing through the WorkSTEPS Functional Employment Testing Program.
Timothy Seppelt, PT, DPT
Timothy Seppelt PT, DPT is a 2008 graduate of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He focused his clinical experience on sub-acute care, outpatient orthopedics, and military-based physical therapy. Tim currently specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine and plans to pursue education that will enhance his treatment skills in these areas.
Timothy is a native of Springfield, IL. He holds a bachelor degree in biology from Illinois State University. He choose to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree to better prepare himself for working with patients in his specialty area and allow himself opportunities to advance professionally. In 2008, Tim brought his expertise to the Belvidere Physical Therapy team and has enjoyed serving patients in the Boone county area.
